Putting on my goggles, grabing the reins, and riding that carpet home

I am ready to go home. I feel like I am almost there. I think I can tast it.

The art of looking

I was sitting in the students in missions lounge the other day and My buddy Andy and I were talking about slacking. My problem was spending too much time manipulating photos of Shedu's family, his was almost stranger.
He said he gets up most mornings at 8am, eats breakfast, and plans on doing homework. But, in reality, he ends up " turning on the radio and laying on the couch and well...." he looked up at the ceiling and said, "Looking." I asked him what the heck he was talking about and he repeated the same thing. I asked him what he meant by looking and he said, "you know...Looking." I asked him how long he does this and he said 1-2 hours. When I asked him if he was serious, he said well, sometimes its 3-4 hours.

They are serving what!

I just got out of evening prayer and The Pete made a weird suggestion. I knew we were having a midnight breakfast tonight, and I wasn't planning on going. Yet, when we got out of chapel, old Petros suggested we get Pizza. Being that I love pizza, and I wasn't going to wait until midnight for some food, I of course said yes. I asked him where he wanted to go, and here comes the shocker, he said the dining hall. Yes my friends, Midnight Breakfast really means Ten O'clock Pizza.

Life is hard when your away from home

Wow. The other day, I thought I finally grew up. I have a new google talk account, and a brand new blog, things I promised to do a few months ago. Here I think I am flying pretty high then, Bam! Dead! No, I didn't go through any green light. I did laundry. I still can't live without my momma.

Every time I throw clothes in the wash, I always check my pockets and never find anything. Later, various artifacts are found ruined on the bottom of the laundry tub. Usually it is yet another half empty listerine strip package or chapstick, the effects of which are usually slightly minty clothes. This time, things were different. It was a chapstick again, but the substance was apparently more volatile than the previous brews. I got this particular one off of some Verizon chick working out of the back of a Hummer at Oktoberfest. It smelled like vicks vapor rub and made my lips turn grey. But, I used it because it was free. I didn't know it would cost me most of the dark laundry from my wardrobe. While no single piece of clothing took a direct hit, five shirts and two of my favorite pants took 1d3 splatter damage. They all servived yet did not escape unscathed.
